Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. – 1 John 3:2-3
The unfathomable Love of God has made us the Sons of God. We were once sons of Satan but now we’re the very Children of God. We once were darkness but now He has made us Light. We were once unrighteousness, but now He has made us the very Righteousness of God. This is who we are. The world may not know us, just as they don’t know the Lord Jesus Christ. But we know who we are. 1 John 4:17 says, ‘Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.’ His Grace has made us exactly like Him. As He is, so are we in this world.
It may not yet appear what we shall be but we know that when the Lord Jesus Christ shall appear, we shall be like Him, that is in our physical bodies. We’re already like Him in Spirit, and now we’re only waiting for our Immortal Bodies. Philippians 3:21 says, ‘Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.’ When He appears at the Coming Resurrection, He’ll change our mortal bodies and make them immortal, like His. He’ll make our perishable bodies to be imperishable, like His. And then the transformation will be complete.
All who have this Hope in Him purify themselves just as He is pure. We do so because we know, should we live like the sons of Satan, we’ll be judged with them in the Lake of Fire. Galatians 5:19-21 says, ‘The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I WARN YOU, AS I DID BEFORE, THAT THOSE WHO LIVE LIKE THIS WILL NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD.’ Christians who live in sin will not make it into the Coming Kingdom. Even though we’re the Sons of God, and we’re in the Kingdom in Spirit, however, if we don’t purify ourselves, we’ll be rejected and lose our place in the Kingdom, and be denied access to the Kingdom when the Lord comes to set it up on the earth. Disobedience cost Adam the Kingdom. Disobedience cost Saul the Kingdom. Disobedience cost Solomon the Kingdom. Disobedience will also cost you the Kingdom, if you don’t live in purity. Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.
PRAYER
Father in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, may I walk in the Light as You’re in the Light. May I shun the evil deeds of darkness and do Works in keeping with Repentance so that I do not miss the Grace that will soon be revealed. Amen.
