Let no man despise thy youth, but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine – 1 Timothy 4:12-13.
The apostle Paul was letting Timothy know that just because he’s young, it doesn’t mean he can’t be a bishop. That’s because the anointing of the Spirit makes you a leader. Like you today, you’re anointed for leadership. You might still be in school or university or still starting out at work – but the fact remains, you’re anointed for leadership.
You’re the seed of Abraham and an heir according to the promise. You’re therefore the head and not the tail. God has purposed that you should be above always and never beneath. That’s the blessing working in your life. It gives you a life of dominion. Therefore take your place in that school, that varsity, that workplace and lead by example.
Just because you’re young, it doesn’t mean you have to be impressionable all the time. Don’t follow others in your environment because of peer pressure. Lead by example. Devote yourself to the Doctrine of Christ and it will cause you to walk in His fulness. Lead others in word. Don’t copy their vulgar language and dirty jokes. Lead them in conduct and don’t follow their sinful lifestyle. You’re the light of the world. Let them see your love, faith and purity. It’s time to walk in dominion and lead your peers into the kingdom of God.
CONFESSION:
I am the seed of Abraham and an heir according to the promise. I am the head and not the tail, above always and never beneath. I am anointed to rule and reign and lead by example wherever I go. Glory to God.
